Hayle, Cornwall

Hayle is a port town with a population of around 9,000 people and a rich history. It has changed a huge amount over the years, but is now a friendly local town with great facilities and links to the rest of West Cornwall.

The town

Hayle is a long town with two main areas - Copperhouse and Foundry. They both have a great selection of local amenities and local shops, pubs and restaurants, and they are evolving all the time!

Things to do

  • Seafood restaurants

Our favourites are Porthmister Kitchen, Porthminster Cafe, The Seafood Cafe in St Ives & Carbis Bay Hotel Beach Restaurant. Most local restaurants do great fish though!

  • Walks

There are so many walks you can do in Cornwall, including at the National Trust properties for tranquil off-road ambling, but the most obvious has to be the South West Coast Path! It is a continuous route spanning the whole of Cornwall and Devon, so take your pick where to start & finish! We love the Zennor, Sennen & Prussia cove areas the best.

  • Paradise Park

A lovely place to visit with kids & animal lovers! They have the Jungle Barn soft play area, perfect for rainy days, tonnes of exotic birds, otters, penguins and red pandas, as well as some more familiar goats, sheep and donkeys. They have a large green with picnic tables if you want to bring lunch, or there are 2 cafes with hot & cold food & drinks. Book online.
